NO THANKS Jose Mourinho: Former Chelsea and Manchester United boss rejects mega £88million offer to manage Guangzhou Evergrande

Jose Mourinho has turned down the chance to become the world’s best paid football manager after rejecting an £88million offer to take over at Guangzhou Evergrande. The Chinese side were willing to pay the former Manchester United and Chelsea boss a staggering £28m per season, with bonuses.
However, Sky Sports reports that Mourinho wants to continue his career at a top European side and win the Champions League for a third time. Earlier this week, pictures emerged of Mourinho meeting Hui Jiayin – the richest man in China. The billionaire real estate developer put two offers to the Portuguese, giving him the opportunity to manage Evergrande, currently led by World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro, and the national team.
Mourinho was sacked by United in December after leading the Red Devils to their worst start in Premier League history. He had recently emerged as the shock favourite to succeed Rafael Benitez at Newcastle, but revealed he will not join a club who settle for ‘seventh, eighth or ninth’. In an interview recorded before Benitez’s departure was announced, Mourinho told The Coaches’ Voice: “The only thing that I know is what I don’t want: I am quite pathological in the sense of I have to play to win.
